From October to December 2017, the war of ACM International Collegiate Programming Contest (ACM-ICPC) was reignited, and seven teams from Zhejiang University's programming competition team participated in the competition. This year, the competition team is composed of 21 students from the School of Computer Science, Zhu Kezhen College, SAA and other departments.
The history of the ACM-ICPC dates back to 1970, when the first competition was held at Texas A&M University. In 1977, the first finals were held during the ACM Conference on Computer Science, which evolved into an international annual multi-national competition.
In six competitions of the regional finals in Shenyang, Xi 'an, Qingdao, Beijing, Nanning and Shanghai, team of Zhejiang University won 10 gold, 3 silver and 3 bronze MEDALS, obtaining the best record of our school in ACM-ICPC Asian regional competition.
The Reconquista team composed by Yan Jiangzhe from SAA, Jiang Shibiao from Zhu Kezhen College, and Chen Shihan from School of Computer Science, won gold MEDAL in ACM-ICPC Asian Beijing station, ACM-ICPC Asian Naning station and ACM-ICPC ECL-Final (the final of China, held in Shanghai).
In addition, they participated in China Collegiate Programming Contest (CCPC), won the gold MEDAL in CCPC Hangzhou station, and won the second place in CCPC annual final held in Harbin.
Yan Jiangzhe started to learn programming in junior school and participated in the Olympiadin Informatics (OI). Now he has been writing programs for more than 8 years. After the selection of the program training in July this year, he became a member of the school team of the program design competition of ZJU, and was the only non-computer college professional player in the team in recent years. Since the formation of the team, the team has been training hard, maintaining at least 25 hours of training every week, and finally won the gold MEDAL in all three competitions (including EC-Final) in this year's Asian regional competition.
