A delegation led by SAA dean paid visit to School of Aerospace Engineering in Tsinghua University, and School of Aeronautics Science and Engineering in Beihang University from 10th to 11th January. This delegation consisted of five persons, aiming to promote development of SAA by learning effective management experience from above two universities.
Six teachers and staffs had an in-depth discussion and exchange with the delegation on 10th Jan. In this meeting, Li Junfeng, party secretary of the school, introduced their development and achievements from four aspects, especially emphasized their creative measurements in student education, faculty construction and teaching management. In students education, they not only teach students knowledge, but also lay emphasis on students’ morality and ability. In teachers, they build an academic community in order to improve cooperation between teachers in academic research. Meanwhile, they hold regular teaching seminars to exchange teaching experience so as to improve teaching ability. Two sides had in-depth discussions and exchanges on various aspects of development of School, which aroused enlightening thinking.
On 11th, the delegation visited School of Aeronautics Science and Engineering in Beihang University. Deputy dean Bao Rui introduced their measures and achievements in school construction. The two sides discussed about management mechanism, discipline development, student education, faculty construction, as well as integration of different disciplines, which further broaden ideas on future development.
During 12 years, SAA has achieved rapid development in various aspects, yet now it is facing a critical period of development. This visit to two universities provided innovative experience of management mechanism, which would be a good reference for school future planning.
