On January 17, Mikhail Pogaosyan, president of Moscow Aviation Institute, led a team of 14 people to visit Zhejiang University. Teachers from the Office of Global Engagement, The Sci-Tech Academy, School of Aeronautics and Astronautics, School of Materials Science and Engineering attended the meeting.
During the talks, Wu introduced the characteristics of Zhejiang University, its disciplinary advantages and its global development, and made positive comments on the close cooperation between the two universities in the field of aviation technology. He expressed the hope to establish a regular communication mechanism with the Moscow Aviation Institute to promote in-depth development of the partnership.
Mikhail Pogosyan reviewed the cooperation between two universities and looked forward to promoting the joint student training program and scientific research cooperation in the fields of aircraft design, engines, composite materials and information technology on the existing basis, and exploring the win-win school-enterprise cooperation model.
In the afternoon, MAI delegation had a meeting with professors from the School of Aeronautics and Astronautics, discussing on promoting the plan of Joint Research Center, teacher and student exchange, as well as student training programs.
Founded in 1930, the Moscow Aviation Institute is one of the world's leading universities in aerospace. ZJU and MAI signed strategic cooperation partnership in September 2018. From then on, both several students short-term programs have been carried out. This year, the joint training program for engineering doctors of the two universities was approved as the innovative talents international cooperation program in 2020 by China scholarship council.
