Prof. ZHU Linli from Institute of Applied Mechanics, together with scholars CHEN Bin from Shanghai High Pressure Scientific Research Center, and HUANG Xiaoxu from Chongqing University, etc. made a great breakthrough in high pressure strengthening in ultra-fine-grained metals. The research was published in Nature on 5 March.
Ultra-high strength metal materials have been widely used in aerospace, high-speed trains and other fields. How to make materials continuously strengthen has always been a hot and difficult topic in the field of material research.
