On 27 Dec., Prof Wang Jianxiang from Peking University visited the School of Aeronautics and Astronautics, ZJU, and gave a lecture on continuum mechanics.
He mainly taught the topics of hyperelasticity, thermoelasticity and entropy elasticity, and clearly explained the complex mechanics knowledge. He combined traditional theories with latest research progress, allowing students to grasp the basic knowledge as well as to broaden their horizons.
Prof Wang Jianxiang's research fields mainly include mechanical properties of composites, surface stress theory, interface effects, generalized transport properties, etc., and has made a series of scientific research achievements. He is now a committee member of IUTAM, member of CSTAM, associate editor of Acta Mechanica Sinica、Advanced Modeling and Simulation in Engineering Sciences, editor of Acta Mechanica Sinica.
