On 4 June, 2021, the appointment ceremony of Academician ZHANG Tongyi as Chair Professor of Zhejiang University was successfully held in Yuquan Campus. Director of Talents Office, XU Huan, Chairman of SAA, BI Jianquan, and Vice Dean of SAA, QU Shaoxing, attended the ceremony.
On behalf of ZJU, Director of Talents Office, XU Huan, welcomed ZHANG Tongyi and presented him with the letter of appointment and the badge of ZJU.
XU Huan said the joining of Prof. Zhang will greatly promote the cultivation of talents and innovation research in the field of mechanics informatics and material informatics at Zhejiang University. Prof. ZHANG said it is a great honor for him to serve as the Chair Professor of Zhejiang University. In his future work , he will uphold the spirit of seeking truth and make contributions to the development of School of Aeronautics and Astronautics of Zhejiang University.
After the ceremony, Prof. ZHANG gave a keynote lecture on Thermal stability of nanograined alloys.
INTRODUCTION TO ZHANG TONGYI:
ZHANG Tongyi, academician of Chinese Academy of Sciences, academician of Hong Kong Academy of Engineering, expert in materials science and solid mechanics, advocator of materials genomics engineering, materials informatics and mechanics informatics in China, founding dean of Institute of Materials Genomics Engineering of Shanghai University, first director of Materials Genomics Engineering Branch of Chinese Society for Materials Science.
