Mechanism of multiphase flow

Multiphase flow is the dominant subject in the institute of fluid engineering, and several important progresses have been achieved in the last decade. In the aspect of nanoparticle multiphase flow, a Taylor expansion moment method with both precision and efficiency was proposed for the multiphase flow of nanoparticles, and constructed the evolution model of particle fractal structure combined with fractal theory. In the aspect of fine particle multiphase flow, a large eddy simulation study on the transport and sedimentation of fine particles in human respiratory tract was first carried out at home and abroad, and introduced the concept of probability density function. Meanwhile, the LES-FDF multiphase turbulent combustion model based on subgrid scale was established for the first time. In the aspect of particle suspension flow, an efficient virtual region method was proposed, which was used to reveal the second radial equilibrium point of particles in pipe flow, the mechanism of particles promoting pipe transition, and the interaction rules of large particles and turbulent flow in turbulent channel flow. In the aspect of cavitation flow, a cavitation water cylinder was built and a new phase change model was proposed.
