| Chair Professor | Professor YU has been a professor and doctoral supervisor in the Department of Mechanics at Peking University (1984-1991), and a professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at University of Manchester Institute of Science and Technology(1991-1995). In April 1995, he joined the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology as a professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering. He is now a honoary professor of Hong Kong University of Science and Technology and a visiting professor of Nanyang Technological University in Singapore. His research mainly focuses on impact dynamics, plastic mechanics, energy absorption of structures and materials, composite materials and polycystic materials. |
